Seoul – November 1, 2021 –
People & Technology, a leading provider of IoMT and medical AI solutions, has signed a final contract with the National Cancer Center (NCC), Korea’s top cancer specialty hospital, to build a smart oncology ward model focused on patient-centered care and advanced medical services.
This project, part of the “Smart Hospital Leading Model” initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, will integrate three key systems into the oncology ward:
- Oncology Treatment Monitoring and Management System
- Patient Pain Reporting and Rapid Response System (RRS)
- Comprehensive Infection Control and Access Management System
Key System Features and Benefits
Oncology Treatment Monitoring and Management
- Real-time monitoring of chemotherapy administration times and phase-specific durations.
- Continuous observation of patients for hypersensitivity reactions during chemotherapy, enabling immediate intervention.
Pain Monitoring and Rapid Response
- Tailored pain monitoring and management for cancer patients, whose conditions often involve higher severity compared to other illnesses.
- Proactive response guidance for procedures and diagnostics based on patient-specific conditions.
Infection Control and Access Management
- Strict control of access for healthcare workers and visitors to protect immunocompromised patients, such as those in sterile isolation wards for leukemia treatment.
- Implementation of non-contact ward rounds and enhanced access control to minimize unnecessary interactions.
The systems will leverage IoMT devices and a robust wireless network infrastructure for automated EMR data input, enabling faster and more efficient rapid response (RRS).
Comprehensive Digital Transformation for Oncology Wards
Through this contract, People & Technology will implement customized IoMT devices, network infrastructure, and a tailored IoMT software platform to enhance end-to-end care for oncology patients. The project aims to improve:
- Specialized care monitoring and management at NCC’s oncology wards.
- Patient safety in specialized wards.
- Patient experience and satisfaction.
- Reduction of administrative burdens on healthcare professionals.
Expanding the Market for Smart Specialty Wards
This initiative will serve as a successful pilot for smart specialty ward solutions, showcasing People & Technology’s ability to integrate advanced digital innovation into clinical settings. The company plans to extend the adoption of its customized smart systems for cancer care, positioning itself as a leader in the emerging market for smart oncology wards and beyond.
